Contest “ Europe in our dreams ”

Aksakovo Municipality in partnership with the Municipality of Setubal /Portugal,  Nughedu Santa Vittoria /Italy, Ożarów Mazowiecki /Poland, Montserrat /Spain, Victoria /Romania and Shtip /Republic of Macedonia, and civil-society organization Bio Network Association are organizing a contest entitled Europe in our dreams“ for the following categories:

  • Writing
  • Drawing
  • Photography

The contest is organized within the framework of the project Future of Europe-Reload, co-financed by the program “Europe for Citizens” of the European Union.

The contest “Europe in our dreams” aims to encourage youth participation in the policy-making process at local and EU level, increase understanding of the benefits of the European Union, intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding, thinking about Future of Europe.

Start of the contest: 10.09.2019

End of the contest: 31.10.2019

 

Contest Regulations  category “Writing”

The writing works can be essay, poetry or prose

1. Right Of Participation

 

The contest will be held in three age categories:

between 7 and 13 years

between 14 and 20 years

between 21 and 29 years.

Individuals under the age of 18  can take part with the consent of their parents or legal representatives.

2. Topic

The contest for writing works “ Europe in our dreams” is related to the democratic engagement and civic participation in the program "Europe for Citizens" . The program “Europe for Citizens” for the period 2014-2020 is an important tool which wants the 500 million residents of the Union to receive a more active role in the development of the Union. Through financing schemes and activities where the citizens can take part, the program promotes common history and shared values of Europe and promotes the sense of engagement with regards to the Union’s development, raising the European spirit and belonging to the European Union .

3. Conditions For Participation

  1. The writing works shall be written in one of the following languages: Bulgarian, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Macedonian, Romanian, Spanish or English.
  2. The essays shall contain up to 300 words.
  3. The poems shall be up to 1 page /1800 symbols with spaces.
  4. The proses shall be up to 5 pages. Each page mustn’t contain more than 1800 symbols with spaces
  5. The writing works have to contain  4  of the 6 key words: Europe, future, European,youth, dream, reload .
  6. The participants in the competition shall guarantee that he/she holds copyrights and the rights of publishing of the essay submitted to contest and that the organization is released of all claims by third parties related to use of the piece for publishing of materials related to the activity of the European Commission.
  7. The participant in the competition grants to the European Commission the rights for publishing materials related to the activity of the European Commission.
  8. Organizers preserve the right to exclude from  the competition of writing category all works that are written illegibly, that do not comply with the topic of the competition or contradict the general moral norms.

4. Criteria For Assessment By The Jury

  • observed requirements for the assignment (length, key words);
  • creativity and originality of the essay;
  • clearance of message
  • completeness of the opinion

5. Rounds of Assessment

5.1 National round – Each project partner will arrange an internal round of assessment. The first 3 works will take part in national round. The works have to be translated  into English.

5.2 Transnational round – The transnational assessment  will be carried out during the sixth meeting “Europe in our dreams”, which will take place from 13 - 15 November 2019 in Victoria /Romania.

  2. There are no limitations regarding materials used
  3.   4. The participant in the competition grants to the European Commission the rights for publishing materials related to the activity of the European Commission.

1.Right Of Participation

  1. Requirements for images: not less than 800KB and not more than 5MB. JPEG or TIFF format; RGB color model; All participants must be able to provide image resolution suitable for printing exhibitions and information materials.

  3. The participant in the competition grants to the European Commission the rights for publishing materials related to the activity of the European Commission.
  4. Organizers preserve the right to exclude from  the competition of writing category all works that are written illegibly, that do not comply with the topic of the competition or contradict the general moral norms.

Sending works

Works for the contest shall be submitted accompanied by completed and signed Application Form for participation electronically at address: contest@europeinfuture.eu

 

Awards

  • The first prize of each category /except 7-13 years old/ will be a visit in another country.
  • The first prize of category 7-13 years old will be a tablet.
  • The second and third prize will be  a package of gifts from partner`s countries
