Europe of my dreams
Europe is mine, yours, his, hers and ours in general. We all share the fate of history, of the present, of the future. But somewhere we made mistakes and now we each correct them in our own way. Lost somewhere between dream and reality, we hopelessly comfort ourselves. The distance left heavy marks on our faces, a chest gap and heartache. It unites and divides our Europe.
All this was well known to the little bird. Now I see why she goes back wherever she goes. Now I know what 'Eagle wings like' to push and fly across our sides. The little bird knew why only one place in the world was called HOME.
Now I ask myself: Am I the same as the little bird? What do I long for? What do I dream about? Do I want to be free or restricted?
I dream of a Europe where everyone is respected, where everyone gets together, where culture and education bring people together, where politicians are supported, and we kids are happy, safe, cheerful.
I dream of a Europe where we gladly represent our countries, where we respect the sights, where we pay special attention to each other's museums, sites, libraries.
I dream of a Europe that has no divisions, but unity.
